Review highlights

Based on 231 reviews

PelmenCafé in Vienna is widely praised for its authentic and flavorful Eastern European cuisine, particularly its pelmeni, which many customers find reminiscent of homemade dishes. The café’s cozy atmosphere and friendly, welcoming staff enhance the dining experience, often leaving visitors with a positive impression of both food and service. While the overall quality is appreciated, some feedback points to occasional inconsistencies, such as smaller portion sizes or menu items not fully matching expectations visually. Despite these minor critiques, PelmenCafé remains a popular choice for those seeking comforting, traditional flavors near Schönbrunn Palace, with many patrons expressing intent to return on future visits.

I ordered with foodora and got myselfe the combo with pelmeni and cheburek. The Cheburek really did not match the picture in any way really but the taste of the pelmeni and cheburek are veryyy nice. The part that disappointed me and my brother was the schnitzel because it was SO SMALL and he even got a miniature slice of lemon (it was as big as my small finger and I am definitely not exaggerating) He said ir tasted wonderful bit the portion was so small my little 7kg dog pculdve eaten at least 10 of these. Definitely never getting the schnitzel again bcs it costs 10,50€ and I saw way bigger portions for that price

We had a wonderful experience at PelmenCafe! The food was incredibly tasty and truly authentic — we tried the pelmeni, borscht, and cheburek, and each dish felt like something straight out of a home kitchen. The flavors were rich and comforting, just like homemade food. The staff were also very friendly and welcoming, which made the whole visit even more enjoyable. Highly recommended for anyone craving real, hearty Eastern European cuisine!

Fantastic food after our visit to the Schönbrunn palace. Andrei the owner was so nice and helpful, and his friend or business partner was as well. The pelmeni was delicious, and they even gave us an apple dessert for free. Was one of the highlights of the trip almost a year ago, I’ve been meaning to make this review for awhile. If I ever come back to Vienna, I’ll be going here. What a gem.

The most delicious Pelmeni I have eaten in a long while. As I am originally Russian, I definitely appreciate the care put into preparing the food and it made me feel connected to my home country. The Café is very cosy and the owner is welcoming and friendly. 10/10 can recommend and will be returning the next time I come to Vienna.

Despite the drizzle of rain and the lack of sunshine, my visit to this café has undoubtedly brightened my day. This was thanks not only to the delectable food, but also to the attentive and charming lady who served me. Her kindness and charisma truly lifted my spirits, and I was especially grateful for the quick service, even though the café was full. What I appreciated most was her ability to listen carefully to customers’ needs and offer tailored recommendations. In other words, the service was simply splendid. Many thanks to the whole team — and in particular to the wonderful waitress who helped me decide and ensured I enjoyed the very best of my meal!

Very nice place. Excellent location, both near Shonburn and technology museum, which makes it perfect as lunch place. Pelmeni are fresh and tasty. Stuff is really nice and friendly.
